Person with distractions coming and goingDistractions are Dangerous

A few days ago, someone was holding their phone next to their steering wheel. Watching their driving, surrounding traffic, and whatever the phone said was important. Dangerous. He started drifting into my lane. Quick honk. Disaster diverted. A couple of minutes later, he comes flying past me in the fast lane doing easily 20 mph faster than me.

There. He proved it to me! What? Is he an idiot? Yep. On all accounts.

Distractions, we all have them.
Often we slip past danger while focused elsewhere
But distractions can create challenges
Even when sitting in your easy chair
Thinking about someone else’s safety,
And not getting anything done that needs to be done.

This is my Saturday morning.
Twenty tasks to be accomplished.
My focus is divided between this, that, and those.
How do I handle this load?

What’s important to finish the most? Set Priorities.
What cannot wait until later? Order them to the clock.
Pencil everything to the calendar. That’s what I do.
Then turn off the distractions and start hammering the “To Do.”

I’m sensing that we’ve lost our priorities.
That which means most is what we want,
Not necessarily what needs to be done the most.
Perhaps we need to rethink our lives.

The Apostle Paul says to bring everything into captivity
We have the power of Spirit to control the Flesh.
You Win on the other side of distraction
Your Focus carries you to Victory. (2 Corinthians 10:3-6)

Distractions are Dangerous: Distractions, we all have them. Dangerous, they are, at the wrong time. Enjoy them at appropriate times, Just don't let your priorities slip away. Click To Tweet

Revelation 2:1-7 NKJV

“To the angel of the church of Ephesus write,
‘These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand,
who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands:
“I know your works, your labor, your patience,
and that you cannot bear those who are evil.
And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not,
and have found them liars;
and you have persevered and have patience,
and have labored for My name’s sake
and have not become weary.
Nevertheless I have this against you,
that you have left your first love.
Remember therefore from where you have fallen;
repent and do the first works,
or else I will come to you quickly
and remove your lampstand from its place—
unless you repent.
But this you have,
that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life,
which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.” ‘
