Preparing to WorkPreparing for Completion

I realize this is not everybody’s cup of tea,
But this weekend, I spent a lot of time
Thinking about life at the end of the Journey.
No matter your view, I still call it Heaven.

Before I get there, the Journey is my most important task
Do it well, and the reward of then most assuredly is mine.
Travel poorly, and I’m not agonizing over this,
But the options are so unsure, no matter what you believe.

I listened to a background “video” of singers and writers
Sharing the hopeful story of the future,
I wept through the comforting tunes,
Some I knew, and others were not familiar.

A skipped song, though not slighted, rose in my spirit.
Without a doubt, I know whom I have believed
I’m Persuaded! He is Able! He keeps what I’ve committed,
Unto him against that day!

For today, my scriptures come from Paul.
My favorite verses that challenge me.
I’ve used them often, and they keep me focused.
For your Journey, here are tools for the Doing.

Philippians 4:4-9 KJV

Emphasis Mine

Rejoice in the Lord always:
and again I say, Rejoice.
Let your moderation be known unto all men.
The Lord is at hand.
Be careful for nothing;
but in every thing

by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God,
which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren,
whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report;
if there be any virtue,
and if there be any praise,
think on these things.
Those things,
which ye have both learned,
and received, and heard, and seen in me,
do:
and the God of peace shall be with you.
