Stack of Books on a table looking at a yardWhat We Value

Of all the things we think are important, and from all the experiences we’ve lived, if you could write your life story, what would be your focus to share?

What do you value?

Extracted from my thinking brain and many things I’ve said in the past, I pause to consider the things of life I value.

So, think it through with me for a moment.
Not in any certain order.

Rethink. Revalue.
These things should not be undervalued.
The beauty of nature.
Remember, it’s God’s Creation.

Me…Myself…and I
The value you bring to any conversation.
How we got to where we are,
and only then of where we are going,
Your Circle of Connection
The importance of family, friends, and loved ones.
The pleasure of meeting and engaging with a stranger.
Chance Meetings
Reconnect with someone from the past.
Sharing, caring, conversing, and loving the experience.
Holding Hands and Giving Hugs to my family and friends.
Filling my mind with good things.

A good book that engages my mind,
Poetry (of all things),
More history and less future,
And simple stories instead of complex machinations.

Comfort
Comfortable chairs,
Fire on a cold night,
Less noise and more silence.
Balladeers with a story to tell.
Simple Needs.
Good neighbors.
Healthy habits.
Take care of yourself.
There’s only one of you!
Spiritual as well as physical.
Prayer that keeps me connected.
Quiet times of devotion and reflection.
Quiet times of His Word.
Journaling my journey via my blog.

I wondered why Solomon’s life became so convoluted and then so clear when he reached an elder’s age. At some point, we all pause and look back. What would be your summation of how you spent your life and what you would like to leave to those following? I suspect it was near his end when he contemplated all that was important. Songs and stories are written from his words.

A wise man will hear and increase learning,
And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel,
To understand a proverb and an enigma,
The words of the wise and their riddles.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge,
But fools despise wisdom and instruction.
(Proverbs 1:5-7 NKJV)
