Bent nailBent nail

Every industry has its name and number. It’s the value put to that which is lost along the way of producing a final product. From attrition (employe turnover and loss) to spoilage (waste because it doesn’t sell timely or is used up in the manufacturing process). Factored into every sale is the cost of these numbers.

As technology grows, the workforce must be retrained for some computer that has replaced them. I’m sure there’s a word for that! Factory floors become giant computer labs, but they need people to work on the computers, right?

If you know all these terms, please share them with me! I’m thinking this one through to the long haul!

Someone I know wanted to purchase a product. He found out it had a long delivery cycle, because, as said the salesman, “The raw materials have not even been mined for the product you want to buy.

So, I imagine the raw materials, planners, drillers, slag heap, workers, shipping, processing, and manufacturing of everything we use. With so much in the mix, it’s no surprise that we lose things (and people) along the way.

Think of it like this, perhaps, because I do.

I hate to bend nails when I hammer them into place.
Some will toss the nail aside, and grab another one.
Not me. Each nail has value!
I spend time trying to straighten the imperfect nail into some semblance of use and make it work.

But What About Church?

Jesus taught the parable of the man who had 100 sheep. As he was putting them up for the night, “counting sheep” as they entered the fold, he realize one was missing.

And he spake this parable unto them, saying,
What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them,
Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth,
more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
(Luke 15:3-7 KJV)

Today, I’m thinking about the one! It’s not his desire that any would perish. (2 Peter 3:9) Let’s not be content to realize some will not make it but work to reach everyone we can. Everyone is worth knowing God loves them!
