Facing TomorrowFacing Tomorrow

We’ve all been down the path of getting ready for something we must face tomorrow. Doctors, interview, first day on the job, or even a vacation. Good news events are something we enjoy. Bad news events fill us with worry and concern.

Regardless, preparing for tomorrow requires me to respond to “today”. The pressures of now, can’t wait, and “I dunno” are not backburner items. Today impact nows, and unfinished, they bleed over into tomorrow threatening our plans.

Yes. September is a crowded month, and there are many irons in the fire, and not enough time to do everything I should be doing, however, I’m willing to prepare today for tomorrows success!

So, let’s make today productive!

You Get To Be The Judge!

Well, you are the judge. You get to choose what to execute, put on the back burner, or planted on your long-range planning calendar! What’s your time worth? Are you wasting precious moments on things that have no direct impact on your bottom line?

I listened to @DARRENHARDY recently, well, if the truth be known, I listen to him multiple times in my week. Darren shared that TV, Golf (!), Sports, News, Music… you name it. If it interferes, then it’s not important to focus on. It’s not that these things are unworthy of your attention, but becoming proficient will require greater dedication than you should have time to give.

So. Naturally, I wondered what the church could be like today if their singular focus of reaching heaven were the focus? Or, if winning a soul was more important than anything else we could imagine. Is the church merely an “ark” for survival, or does it represent the foundation to become the witnesses to the entire world that Jesus commissioned us to do? (Matthew 28:18-20)

Side Thought:
Jesus had all power in heaven and earth.
He commissions us to go full of his spirit and power.
Hmmm. Perhaps we are guilty of not utilizing that power!
Or accomplishing that mission!

Take this idea to your natural state of life. If you want to be a millionaire, then your focus is on earning and keeping the results of your labor. If you want to be a doctor, then it’s education, practice, and experience. Name your profession and interests – is it who you want to be known for? If so, then let nothing interfere or distract you from your goal!

Aging Options

As I creep through my remaining years (I think I have plenty of time left!), I’ve come to a conclusion. Perhaps it’s embarrassing to get to this late stage in the game and realize the wasted time and effort spent on so many attention getters, but it’s never too late to focus. Equally, it’s never too late to use that rudder and change directions. More power, or focus, or clarity?

In fact, I post everything I can with these hashtags: #Perception #Thimk #Algorithm #Focus I’ve written about all these subjects! Lately, I’ve been adding new keywords to keep my focus, thimking things through, know the algorithm for success, and having the perception to know the right call. #Clarity anyone?

The challenge will be, can I change my focus? Sure. Will it have payback? To some degree. James Michener did not start writing until he was in his 40’s, but by the time he was in his 90’s he had written successful stories one after the other! There are an estimated 75 million-plus copies of his books throughout the world.

Can I shake off the feeling of wasted time? That’s difficult to say, but I’m willing to try. It’s never too late to start!

Making Today The Best It Can Be

How do you plan for tomorrow? By making today the best it can be! Set your mind to it. Get your energy flowing. Work through your plan. Don’t quit until you’re done!

I love this quote from George Lucas: “I’m not much of a math and science guy. I spent most of my time in school daydreaming and managed to turn it into a living.
Maybe the key and new hashtag post should be, know your #Strengths and use what you are blessed with!

It is after the Hall of Faith chapter (Hebrews 11), that the writer gives direction. Though it’s nothing new, how about putting this thought into your old thinker and think it through in light of your tomorrow schedule. Today. Now.

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us,
and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith,
who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross,
despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
(Hebrews 12:1-2 NKJV)

Put your noggin’ to work. Set aside. Find clarity. Thimk it through. Focus on your strengths and direction. Keep your perceptions working fully. Find the algorithm that fits. Now. Get busy making today successful so tomorrow will follow suit! The Best is Yet to Come!
