Rearview Mirror showing "objects are closer"Objects Are Closer

Last night…at Come & Go Prayer and polished this morning.

The time will come when we must contend
Habits, problems, and imperfections to confront.
With words and actions, we stand to face,
Though our weapons be words, not sword nor mace.

Confrontation, a term oft associated with strife,
Yet, oftentimes, it is necessary for a fuller life.
If we ignore the issues that arise,
They fester and grow beneath deceitful skies.

At prayer’s quiet hour, this truth did unfold,
The Lord’s gentle nudge, both subtle and bold.
If He confronts us, may we humbly heed His call,
For His guidance leads us never to fall.

Unbidden, His presence, though sometimes disconcerting,
In confrontation, face on, His love ever asserting.
Through His Spirit’s gentle tug, we find our way,
From wandering hearts to His Word, we sway.

As melodies of faith intertwine with prayer,
Our focus shifts. Our souls are laid bare.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus, the source of all grace,
Let His love and light illuminate every space.

In His presence, our faults and desires fade,
As we confront ourselves, our wills aside are laid
May His love overshadow all that we seek,
And His grace guides us when answers seem bleak.

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us,
and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith,
who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame,
and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
(Hebrews 12:1-2 NKJV)

A Song of Ascents. Unto You I lift up my eyes,
O You who dwell in the heavens.
(Psalms 123:1 NKJV)
