Me in KindergartenMe in Kindergarten

It’s Monday, June 19, 2023.
One hundred sixty-nine days since the year began.
Yes. The picture is me when I began Kindergarten!

It’s Forty-five degrees, cloudy, and the sun is doing its best.
Breaking through the breaks, the beams stream
Through the clouds, trees, blinds, and into my face.
I’m so thankful it’s cool…

My blog is officially thirteen years old this month.
No worries. I was born on the thirteenth of my month
The weirdly scareable number does not affect me.
At all. Not one iota. It just means I’m a teenager.

Today is my official “off” day of the week.
Saturday wraps up my prep time for Sunday,
And anyone who knows anything about pastoring…
Sundays are my biggest day of the week!

I woke, as usual, early, but not before the sun rose.
I’ll stay up late, that’s normal, long after the sun beds down.
The hours between starting and stopping are productive.
Tasks to conquer and plans to iron out, and thoughts to consider.

In the middle of this morning, I’ll pause and consider,
My reason and purpose, the plans I’ve made and thrown to the side
I’ll gauge my future, weigh my past, and push ahead.
That’s the joy of life, as God provides for my continued striving.

Numbers and words mean a lot to me,
My original blog title dealt with Algorithms.
You know. Words. Rules. Analytical thinking.
But it’s their application to life that takes me home.

For my thirteenth birthday of sharing,
Dare I challenge myself on this quest?
Make writing more meaningful, productive,
And quit worrying about who reads.

So, I celebrate with this post. Number 3,336.
Roughly? Two hundred fifty-six posts per year, twenty-one each month.
Some are duplicates and repeats.
Why? Updating and sharing again seems important.

And Now? Head into the future for another thirteen years.
Doing what? Why? Does anyone care? Well, I do.
This is the platform God gave me.
He piqued my interest in sharing.

So, I’ll keep on doing what I started thirteen years ago.
Writing better, striving to be more meaningful,
And keeping my thinking process more relevant.
See you down the road of 13-More.

So teach us to number our days,
That we may gain a heart of wisdom.
(Psalms 90:12 NKJV)
