Walking the rails over a high space
Stretch Your Boundaries

Caught in a rut, stuck in the same old, same old.
What’s next if nothing ever changes?
That’s the way many get caught in dissatisfaction.
Which generally leads to very bad choices.

The year of yes, no, who knows, I certainly don’t.
But the idea is that it’s time to change.
On so many fronts, of course.
Nothing major, but oh, so many opportunities.

How do we choose what to change?
I’m looking for something to start for the better.
Not stuck in the old routine, but that which will stretch
My boundaries beyond where I’ve been.

A journey thought, a new genre, creating more friends
Find a new gem to collect or unload some baggage
No matter the thought, we add and take away
But if you have lots of space, you tend to fill it up with something.

Maybe it’s downsizing – but wait, I want more land!
I could be contented with a smaller single-story house,
But give me what I want – mountains, snow, glaciers, rivers, and forests…
No chimney pokes through as far as the eyes can see.

How do you start? Not by facing those significant challenges head-on.
Gravitate toward the small changes that, in numbers, become big.
Maybe that’s the key to life. Focus on those pennies…
Let the dollars take care of themselves.

Do you want to read the Bible this year?
Why not start with a single chapter each day? 1169 in total.
One per day? That’s just 3.2 years of commitment.
When done, add another chapter – that’s 1.6 years.

See! Whittle it down to manageable chunks!
That’s a great starting place, right?!
You can do the same with weight, space, and junk!
I think I can… I think I can… Look! I did!

In a few years you realize,
Your boundaries have been stretched and occupied.
What was once never conceivable is now done!
Congrats! Let’s do it again!
