hand writing with quill penWhy I Write

It’s easy to store your ideas,
Keep it all inside just for yourself.
But what if we each took a moment
Pen or keyboard in hand, and wrote.
How much better to share rather than hoard?

Some have no clue about the power of words.
We’re rapidly moving into videos, shorts, and reels.
Entertainment, training, and even learning
Requires appeal with the eye for watching
And less with the mind to figure it out

It’s getting easier to make a video to share
I hope and pray it goes viral
But the cutting room floor is filled.
With the waste of creation, unused material.

On the other hand, unwritten words.
Find them in your mind waiting for the proper moment.
To be Revealed! Discovered! Enjoyed!
Digitally or even pulled from a dusty library shelf.

Through the years I learned
Writing enforces the yearn to learn
See it, hear it, write it, stored for the future.
When I write, I remember better.

Writing is easy, the stories I want to tell.
Lessons learned, experiences earned.
The path to show for others to find.
I write to unveil, reveal and hope others will find.

Blank pages tremble when I appear.
Words, somehow, magically reveal
The story inside that’s looking for a road trip.
An outing to share the verbs, nouns
And all the others.

I don’t remember their roles,
But words do unfold
Before my mind makes me aware,
They lay before filling blank sheets.

Don’t be afraid to write.
Some will cast their barbs.
Let those hooks pull better words.
Your stories will continue to come out.
