I’m an open person and often an open book. There’s no murkiness of weird thoughts plaguing my mind or showing up in my actions.

What did Popeye say, “I ‘yam what I ‘yam!” Who I am is lived out where all may see and judge for themselves.

Still, I have a vault full of posts, blogs, notes, sermons, and studies that I never post. Why? Background, research, thinking, building a theme, or even keeping my mind straight about certain subjects.

I have found that I remember better when I write.

Okay. I may remember better, but I don’t remember everything I write! When I peruse one of my blog posts from a social platform, I find a link to another similar blog post I’m written over the past dozen years. Click. Read. Another. Click. Read. I can daisy chain my thousands of posts linked in theme, subject, reference, or thought!

I’m looking for a way to link my unshared notes to myself without making them public. Evernote, OneNote, or some other library system may work, but I prefer they all stay in the same location.

Morning Thought

I have many thoughts I’ve learned not to share. Even to my closest friends, family, or my bride. My kids, coworkers, or a counselor (I’ve never been to one). They are mine to do with what I want.

Some enjoy journaling, and when they leave this world, their strange rumblings of mind will be visible to whoever ends up with them. I’ve written this before. Entrust them to me. Please. I will torch them, so no one has to deal with them. I promise!

Many of my thinking processes are just for me. Mull it over. Think it through. Create an anchor or foundation. Let it become the building block to a premise of life. Maybe it’ll be shared someday. Just not right now. But when I learn something worth sharing, then I “publish.” By then, I’m not worried about a thought that is not worthy of public consumption.

The Apostle John shares insight into his time and understanding of Jesus.

And there are also many other things that Jesus did,
which if they were written one by one,
I suppose that even the world itself
could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.
(John 21:25 NKJV)

There’s a lot to be said if we only had time to write it down. But even the whole world could not contain the words.
