Flawed, But Perfect

“The 17-foot-tall, 12,000-pound marble masterpiece by Michelangelo Buonarroti was unveiled to the public in Florence on #ThisDayInHistory on September 8, 1504. “David” was carved from a single block of white Italian Carrara marble that other artists rejected for being flawed.” [Source from an Instagram post.]

This caught my eye as I was posting last week. Though beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the amazing thing is that someone can see something beautiful in something that most of us can never see. Even though the Source is flawed, something beautiful and perfect can come out of the vision.

As trite as it may sound, when you put anything in the hand of the Master, the results are astounding.

William Blake wrote a poem, Auguries of Innocence, that begins with these few lines:

To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour

Click on the link and read the poem, Auguries of Innocence. It talks about seeing deeper into the everyday pieces of life. Then, with patience and timing, you can see something different. Even in the flaw of the moment, we may find that perfect ending.

I Cannot Help But Think.

Amid a world gone mad with negatives, I cannot help but think the only way we will get through this is for some God-Given healing.

We cannot see the good because it’s all become bad. Our minds strive to find the “good,” but it’s almost impossible. The Media has gone mad with all their reporting. Hollywood is so negative that you cannot enjoy anything they produce without spotting sin, crime, degradation, and other negatives.

Inflation. Politics. Disease. Rising medical costs. Shrinkage. Supply chain. National and Global unrest. Energy Grid. Fossil Fuels.

Will the madness ever end?

I doubt I will see anything improve as I age toward my 100 years of life. Yes. That’s my goal. It’s only 33 years into the future. Will it happen? That’s my plan!

Before I fret the day away, I know my God makes all things good in the middle of this disease of life. You may find your world is full of imperfection, but he can make all things good. He can take whatever is going on and produce good from the negative that exists.

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you,
that you, always having all sufficiency in all things,
may have an abundance for every good work.
(2 Corinthians 9:8 NKJV)

How? Perhaps that’s where your desperation steps up to the plate. With all your mind, soul, body, and strength, you let loose with a cry and call on Him. When that cry goes forth amid the madness…

He sent His word and healed them,
And delivered them from their destructions.
(Psalms 107:20 NKJV)

Maybe this is the focus of an imperfect world and time of living. Pray. Call on God, and Trust His response. Healing will come from His Word. Deliverance! We will see perfection even when life is flawed.

Even When Flaws Become Perfect: The only way to find good is to call on God when things get bad. He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions. (Psalms 107:20 NKJV) Click To Tweet
