Thimk and DoThinker - Thimk is great, but couple it with Doing!

I like to think, and often enjoy the thoughts bouncing around my mind. If you only knew how my mind worked! I’m calling it a “thinking” mind and it’s continually bouncing with “thoughts” that never go silent!

Of course, if we truly understood the process of thinking and how thoughts produce actions and words, then we may bring our thinking under a semblance of control and not let it get so wild! Yes… I’ve written about this. Manage Your Thinking!

Thinking thoughts define our life.

Early this morning I had several thoughts, and less they disappear in the gray matter between my ears I took a moment to open a new document I titled, “Thinkers Thoughts” and promptly recorded them for future considerations. I did not want to lose these thoughts!

In no specific order, I enjoy science, space, theology and doctrine, order and structure, travel, history, language development, cultural experiences, technology, genealogy, emotions… the past and future of life, and comparing it to where we are right now… imagining time way off in the future and some call it “science fiction”…

In fact, the one thing I remember first thinking long and hard about was an 8th-grade science experiment when we were studying space…my famous Mr. Doolittle thought… This has kept my interest for a long time!

Here’s my thought today.

You can have fleeting thoughts and wonder where they went. You can have thoughts that never seem to leave your consciousness. Whatever draws you into deep contemplation, take the time to record them for a future reference. Who knows? You may have a book hidden within you just waiting to be birthed. Or, you may have the answer to someone else who is struggling for understanding.

Regardless, I find that writing down your thoughts and thinking processes gel them into form and substance so I can stand back and consider their existence and meaning. Perhaps it’s like pondering the beauty of the world around us, or that excellent work of art we contemplate, or standing in awe of that room full of books that contain the thoughts of generations of thinkers and writers!

Hence, my blog. I write to explore thoughts that are fresh to me every day and all the time. I always research my blog posts for keywords to see where a thought may have taken me in the past and if my current thought is identical, or is there perhaps a new wrinkle to add to the study.

My first blog tag line said it like this:

“Everything begins with a very simple thought
and grows into a magnificent premise
and returns to a very simple thought…”

Then I posted over 1,500 thoughts. Some built on other thoughts. Others were brand new and were just waiting for the time I would revisit them!

When I moved my blog to my present domain, I copied my old blog posts forward. Not all of them copied, and that’s a thinking problem in and of itself. So, I reference the older blog site looking for thoughts that need further development. Between my two sites, I have over 3,000 posts about thoughts.

My tag line today simply says: Making sense of life, one blog at a time.

There’s a book hidden in there!

Maybe more than one. What I do know is that if I do not record these thoughts then who knows if they will ever make it out of my mind and into words and actions!

Consider the wisest man in scripture. I use his quotes often, but Solomon said something about this very post.

When I applied my heart to know wisdom
and to see the business that is done on earth,
even though one sees no sleep day or night,
then I saw all the work of God,
that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun.
For though a man labors to discover it, yet he will not find it;
moreover, though a wise man attempts to know it, he will not be able to find it.
(Ecclesiastes 8:16-17 NKJV)
(Emphasis mine)

What? There is no way of finding out all that one could possibly know! But Solomon commends the idea that searching for answers is a worthy process! So. I search out my thoughts!

Here are my two thinking thoughts from this morning.

First. Learning to code in Assembler without a book, my instructor took time to deepen our understanding to know binary – bits and bytes. ‬ ‪It takes 8 bits to equal one byte. ‬ Every character and symbol is comprised of 8 smaller “bits” of binary that makes it unique from other characters and symbols. ‪I learned the importance of every binary bit to have a solid byte. ‬ ‪Small details matter!‬ ‪Then, I learned about Octal and Hexadecimal numbering systems! Wow!

Secondly. Your future is just one second away. Ready for it?‬ ‪Most of us think about the future far down the road, but reality says it’s just a blink, a heartbeat, and a breath away. ‬‪Preparing for that future moment is what a lifetime of preparation has been all about. ‬‪Surprised?‬ Ready? It’s here!

Small details matter!

In binary, we call them bits, as in, “bits of data”. Even Solomon taught this concept in his book we call Proverbs. He references the smallest insect he could imagine. The Ant. Then he talks to the lazy person.

Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise,
Which, having no captain, Overseer or ruler,
Provides her supplies in the summer,
And gathers her food in the harvest.
(Proverbs 6:6-8 NKJV)

Your future is closer than you think! Jesus describes this when conversing about the end times. It’s sort of prophetic and poetic.

Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.
But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come,
he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.
Therefore you also be ready,
for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
(Matthew 24:42-44 NKJV)

This is how my mind works.

I see the world around me, and if I think it through deep enough I can find a scriptural reference and principle that helps me align myself to the Bible and my Godly calling. I’m not sure there’s another book around that covers as much history as the Bible that gives me a framework for my life.

Now. That’s a thinking thought!
