It has been shared that someone lost in a forest will certainly circle back to their starting point if they search for help without a goal or a target to aim for. Depending on the terrain, weather conditions, even physical limitations (ex: one leg shorter than the other), it is a given that many who look for direction will never find it unless they have tools to keep them pointed to success.

I was thinking about all those who keep repeating life challenges over and over because all they know how to do is to travel in circles, and more than likely they do not even see this occurrence. Their conversations keep coming back to the same set of stories without anything new to add. Their world has a narrowed focus. Their experiences have already been shared and there is nothing new in their life. It seems like that old joke of Pete and Repeat…sitting on the fence. Pete fell off. Who was left? Repeat...

It’s easy to repeat our life experiences over and again until we reach the ending breath with no time to make right the wrongs, improve the odds or make the results better than the last time!

There’s an old joke in my repertoire, and there are so few there because I can never seem to remember or tell them properly:

A man walks into a movie theater and sits near another patron. As the movie progresses that patron leans over and says, “That guy on the horse? He’s going to ride down the hill really fast. I bet you $10 he will see that sweeper (low hanging limb) and duck under it!” Well, the rider comes down the hill, doesn’t see the limb and gets swept from the saddle. The patron just shakes his head and hands over the $10, to which the man asked, “Why did you make this bet?” “Well, I’ve watched this movie 4 times in a row and you’d think by now that rider would learn to duck!”

Insanity. Doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results!

If you finally realize you are running your life in circles, then maybe it’s time to break the cycle! Find a new track to get on! Don’t let the bent of your life dictate to you a repeat performance! Change the Bend! Maybe it’s time to write a new ending to your future! Lose that weight! Break that habit! Finish that degree! Write that book! Start a new career! Develop a new style of “you”!

I’m just saying…

Maybe it's time to get on some tracks that lead you instead of finding your own way... @LeadershipFreak Click To Tweet

You know, “If you always do what you’ve always done, then you’ll always get what you’ve always gotten!”

Maybe it’s time to realize where you are, the looped direction you are headed, and jump the track to a new set of tracks that will lead you somewhere positive!

“A bend in the road is not the end of the road…Unless you fail to make the turn.” ~Helen Keller

Even if the bend looks like a spaghetti bowl! I believe it’s easier to make a change for the better but you must first make a step to find the better direction, and then throw your effort into making a better life.
