Take it out for a spin…tell me what you think.
Are we talking about a car, boat, or other motor vehicle?
Not today. This morning, I was thinking about the spin of life.
How we spin things to make our way seem more suitable.
From my perspective, so to speak, my way is better than yours.
This is where I’m at
From the way my life spun since Day 1.
The choices I’ve made are mine.
I’ll have to live with what I’ve birthed.
A video on a social platform showed a black-and-white clip.
Two old-time Country and Western singers – Tubbs and Williams.
Each would sing a song from the other’s playlist.
Each sounded just fine on another’s song.
One sang a gospel song, the other a runaway hit.
But I wonder if the songs would have been such a hit.
If the other had sung it first?
All my life, I’ve lived within an hour of the ocean.
Would life have been different had I lived in the interior?
Since I was six years old, I have a particular story to tell.
But living somewhere else, that story would not be true.
Had I started rich, would I have been any different than today?
Had my confidence always been present, would I have progressed down another path?
What I know now, had I known it then, would my life be any better or different?
What’s your spin?
To get to where we are today, well, the past casually brought us along.
We wouldn’t get here any differently unless we lived a different way.
Spin it any way you want,
you’ll never know if your future will be any different
than it is today when you think about it.
Take this thought for a spin…
Other than aging, you’ll be the same person next year…
Unless you do something about it.
Our Solar System is not just spinning…
It’s traveling along, moving all the time.
Next year, today, you’ll be in the same place
As related to the sun…but our Solar System is moving…
And so, dear brothers and sisters,
I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you.
Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable.
This is truly the way to worship him.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world,
but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.
Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
