Tread water, maintain your place,
You reflect. What got me here?
Where is here even at?
Beginning to whatever the end may be,
You can either stay or make a decision.
Need some momentum? It depends.
Where’s your destination?
What’s your push, and what’s your draw?

The older I get, the more I realize that life is more about steady momentum than moments. We celebrate and remember the moments that excite and scare us, but the push toward a goal keeps us marching. Step by step. Day by day. Year by year.

Along the way, you’ll lose some battles. Other days? So. So. Then, some days will be joyously celebrated until your feet return to reality.

But the side of the line drawn in the sand says a lot about your focus on victory! Which side are you on?

Moses and Israel sang a song to God after victoriously crossing the Red Sea.

The LORD is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation;
He is my God, and I will praise Him;
My father’s God, and I will exalt Him.
The LORD is a man of war;
The LORD is His name.
(Exodus 15:2-3 NKJV)

Ahha… Good song. That’s your song today, but what will tomorrow be? Let’s look ahead 15 days.

Then the whole congregation of the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness. And the children of Israel said to them, “Oh, that we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat and when we ate bread to the full! For you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”
(Exodus 16:2-3 NKJV)

I’m thinking today how short-lived our victory celebrations are and how quickly we return to our nature of frustration and doubt.

Steady Momentum: Short-lived victories can help us past our Frustration and Doubt today, but will you only have yesterday's momentum? Or will you create some today? Click To Tweet

Where’s your momentum now? Has your destination changed? Short-lived victories can help us past our Frustration and Doubt today, but will you only have yesterday’s momentum? Or will you create some today?

Hebrews 11, the heroes of Faith.
Not every trial was a victory in our eyes, and yet… They made it!
In 2 Corinthians 11, Paul writes about life’s hurdles, but he overcame them!
Job was restored, and the Prodigal came home, but Judas never recovered.
My thought is simple…
Will you make it to your destination?
What’s your momentum saying about you right now?
