I’ve learned, but maybe you already knew
A difficult auto accident experience sets you back.
It’s approaching three years since that day in May
And I’m still struggling with mobility I took for granted.

This set me up to consider those
Who continually challenge their bodies
With common spectator sports we hear about
Every Sunday from Summer to the Winter.

At my age, especially, I have a different attitude
Every game is replete with car wrecks
That would keep me forever on the sidelines
Yet they keep doing it, and we keep watching it.

Then I think about Sunday
What it’s become from what it used to be.

Which season of my life was Sunday more than today?
Of course, in my Spring and Summer
Sunday was about the whole day.
But as I’ve passed through Fall and knocked on Winter’s door
Sunday is about two hours long… For some, it’s a spectator event.
It’s definitely short of what I could have done back then.

Ask any pastor if they are satisfied.
I’m sure some are.
But many of us know the deeper story,
Our attitude has changed.

Work, family, and play are more importantly attended to.
But God’s House is a distant fourth, fifth, or maybe even tenth.

It could be that the Sunday of old can no longer be found
But our attitude of why we go to church is messing with our minds.
Why even go at all? How about once per month or quarter?
Let’s make it an annual pilgrimage and sigh, “Ahha… That’s much better!”.

So here’s my attitude, which I write.
On any given Sunday, I give my all.
To pray, study, worship, and present my best.
My best is not just my actions or words; it’s also how I dress.
T’would be the best I should do on any day,
But my focus is Sunday. Today. So, I give my Best Attitude.

Good. Better. Best.
Never let it rest.
Till my Good gets Better.
And my Better gets Best.

To the Chief Musician.
On A Stringed Instrument.
A Psalm of David.
Hear my cry, O God;
Attend to my prayer.
From the end of the earth I will cry to You,
When my heart is overwhelmed;
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For You have been a shelter for me,
A strong tower from the enemy.
I will abide in Your tabernacle forever;
I will trust in the shelter of Your wings.
Selah
( Psalms 61:1-4 NKJV)
