Last week, I visited an aunt and uncle and enjoyed the time immensely. They are both in their 90s and have been married for over 70 years.
What does it take to have such longevity?
Only God knows.
But you can bet life has had its ups and downs, give and take, but with perseverance to keep pushing forward.
I sent my aunt a message a little bit ago, and this phrase popped into my brain and won’t go away.
“You both have been in my life since my first breath.”
Let that thought perk on your back burner for a while. Let it simmer.
Good or bad, we’ve had people who are always there. Mostly family, for sure. When I say good or bad, I’m really talking about me. When I have had good times and bad, they’ve been there.
As I age and see the bigger picture of life cycles, I hope and pray that younger folks can say that about me.
I’ve always been there.
Perk. Back burner. Simmer.
Philippians 4:7-8, NKJV
… “and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate (think) on these things.”
