Question Mark on a Sandy Island
Why Am I Here

I’ve asked this question in many jobs
Why am I here?
And that was answered by self-improvement.
A focus on growth.
It’s time to move on from here.

I’ve never asked this in my marriage.
What God has joined together?
It’s for a reason.
His love, her love, my love, a three-fold cord
That is not easily broken.

I’ve wondered why I started down a street,
Even when I knew it was my destination.
I’ve stopped at many locations and thought to myself…

Why on earth am I here?

I’ve been fortunate to skip out on graduation ceremonies,
Except for one. And as it progressed? Oh, No!
Yep. Hear me say it. By now, you know it.
Why am I here?

We make choices every day.
Some are good, right, and perfect.
But there are times when we question our sanity.
How did I get here?

I’ve reached endings and wondered how I got there.
No one ever asked me why I was there or here.
But this time, you don’t get to skip the question.
Be ready to answer, it could come at any moment.
Why are Y-O-U here?

Esther 4:13-16 NKJV

And Mordecai told them to answer Esther:
“Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews.
For if you remain completely silent at this time,
relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place,
but you and your father’s house will perish.
Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai:
“Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me;
neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day.
My maids and I will fast likewise.
And so I will go to the king, which is against the law;
and if I perish, I perish!”
