I learned today some people respect others
By minimizing needless noise that interferes
Some have no clue how noisy they are
But to my ears, the noise never quits.
I remember a deep cave experience.
The light was turned off, and the dark oppressed
But the safety was felt that you could hear
And when all else failed, the noise was nice.
I suspect it’s this constant sound
That I enjoy controlling to my satisfaction
Learning when and how to be silent
Though noises around may never quit.
I imagine the Garden of Gethsemane,
The disciples were encouraged to pray with The Lord
But their tiredness overtook their willingness
But still, in their silence, someone listened to His Noise.
Today, I’m thankful for the noise I hear
When it’s prayer, “Thank You, Jesus,” and an “Amen!” or two.
Our voices lifted high in praise and worship
This noise must be appealing to God.
Let’s change our usage of noise.
Direct it where and when it’s needed
But also know there are times and spaces
When needless noise should be controlled to silence.
Isaiah 52:6-10 NKJV
Therefore My people shall know My name;
Therefore they shall know in that day
That I am He who speaks: ‘Behold, it is I.’ ”
How beautiful upon the mountains
Are the feet of him who brings good news,
Who proclaims peace,
Who brings glad tidings of good things,
Who proclaims salvation,
Who says to Zion,
“Your God reigns!”
Your watchmen shall lift up their voices,
With their voices they shall sing together;
For they shall see eye to eye
When the LORD brings back Zion.
Break forth into joy, sing together,
You waste places of Jerusalem!
For the LORD has comforted His people,
He has redeemed Jerusalem.
The LORD has made bare His holy arm
In the eyes of all the nations;
And all the ends of the earth shall see
The salvation of our God.
