Before you go, you should know
From what point are you launching?
Is it a place of surety or squelchy ground?
Were you safe there or fleeing to a safer haven?
Knowing where is critical before you go.
Where you are and where you are headed toward,
The option of not knowing could be identical
Of moving from the frying pan and straight into the fire.
I’m a conscious driver. Where I am, and what’s around.
But conscious thought means I know work arounds
When traffic bottlenecks to a stop. Quick!
Aim for the exit! Take the surface streets. They’re swifter.
When adding a skill, I take an accounting of place.
What do I know, how much will it cost, and do I have time to learn?
There’s no waste when you pause and ask valid questions.
The end is richer by far when I know from whence I come.
There have been times when we underestimated
And over imagined a future and the ending.
There’s nothing like finding our head underwater
And only a breathing apparatus keeps us alive.
Unless it’s a condition no fault of your own
It’s like taking medicine for something you can control
If you would but own the choices it takes to
Make sure the results don’t need a doctor to control.
As I write and think this through,
Especially at my new age of 68 + one day, (okay, 2023)
I’m making conscious decisions to improve my position
Like standing and ready for that starting pistol to fire! Go!
Health. Wealth. Time. Happiness. Family. Connection. Friends.
All are starting points we should gauge.
Do you know where you stand, and can you make yourself ready?
Let’s Go! This is the year we grow. Improve. Become!
I know what my goals and resolutions are, do you?
Let me remind you. Our entire solar system is on the move.
You will never be at the spot you are right now. That’s your start!
Can you aim for a time and place of improvement?
Sure. I’m with you. Let’s go!
