Me in KindergartenMe in Kindergarten

It’s easy to drop the day in the bucket of “done.”
But if you are like me, you spend time thinking it through.
Part of it is related to the need to recover
Energy, strength, and then think refreshed and recovered.

That’s what most Sunday’s are like for me.
I rethink the day, but only after I’ve had my rest.
There was a time when the nap was truly power
But today was a full hour! Whew! I’m glad it’s over!

Not the day, but the nap. It takes a lot to wake up!
A cup of good Christmas Coffee, maybe a sugar cookie
Whatever you use, after a nap is done, get busy
It’s time to analyze and think it through.

I expended much energy before noon.
The first day of the year, oh my.
It felt like I had split a cord of wood.
Is this supposed to be an indication of the year?

If so, this will be a year of work, not rest.
There’s lot to do, there always is
But every day of every year has schedules and work
January 1, 2023 is no different.

So I’m building a reservoir of strength, and will.
I’m ready to give it my all,
There’s no time like this first day of the year
To agree to the schedule, and commit to the work.
