On Your Mark
On Your Mark

Thanksgiving is over, and we are each blessed in our own unique way. Some got to be with family, and others dreamed about the day of reunification, while others had too many, or not enough.

Whether you worked or not, the day of thanks is over.

Or is it. You decide if you only live thankful one day a year, or can it be our new lifestyle every day.?

Regardless, the hurdle to the end of the year is racing down the track. Last minute burnouts can be resolved by planning better.

Hold The Cource

Pace yourself. It may seem like a short time till the new year, but to keep your head above water takes some major planning, solid activation of your steps, and don’t let the bad times outweigh the good.

Learn when not to be enticed by a good deal that is only available on Black Friday, Cyber Monday or Local Saturday. Before long, every day between now and Christmas will have a gimmicky way of parting a fool, uhhh… us, from our hard earned dollars.

Draw the proverbial line in the sand, keep your focus on the long-haul and not the short-term duration. Spend your time, money, and energy wisely.

Is now a good time to change your focus? Well, think about it like this:

No Scramble Zone

You cannot undo a lifetime of choices in the amount of time remaining. Sure, you can do better from here on out, but what’s your plan?

I may be good at creating a “To Do” list,
but if I don’t do what’s on the list,
how good were my intentions to begin with?

Attributed all the way back to the 1800s, there is a statement that goes along this line:

Plans are worthless, but planning is everything.”
~Eisenhower [Source]

You can plan all day long for certain aspects of life, but until you get in the game and face the challenge, get knocked down the first time, or lose site of your goal in the heat of a moment, how you do know if your plans are good enough? Now what? That’s why we plan.

Sometimes you stand your ground and duke it out with the distractions and poor choices. Other times you retreat to safety, plan your next step, and then engage. No matter what, be like Churchill, “Never, never, never give up.” (Or something along this line!)

Why? The writer of Hebrews tells us this truth:

“Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.””(Hebrews 13:5, NKJV)

For a special blessing, check out verse 8 in the same chapter.

This is Black Friday, how prepared are you for the race to the end? Let the game’s begin!

Thanks for Reading.
