(I’m not a poet, but I see lines of words that flow.
Some call it dyslectic writing. I simply call it prose.)
Late last night and early this morning,
I’m spending energy thinking about the Future.
Today is yesterday’s tomorrow.
The Future is here! Now what?
Should I only think about tomorrow?
Or do what I thought about yesterday?
Of all the things we want in life,
too many are never achieved
because we spend time thinking
through the Past,
aiming for a future life,
and failing to live in the Present.
What do you want out of life?
Go ahead, make yourself a list.
If it’s not written down as a dream
Much like those wispy goals
Your wants will vanish in time’s funny way.
So, I made myself a list.
While thinking about the Future
Though imperfect, our Past has been blessed
Now, while the morning is young
Live for the present.
Perhaps it goes something like this,
Be sure to add a place to mark and check.
- First, and not necessarily in this order.
- Give yourself Mercy, a deadline you might have missed, so what?
- Seek out some Grace, and it’s found more quickly as you dispense some of your own.
- Crowd your space with Hope, and it’s the one thing that lights up the Future
- Show yourself that you can Love, even when you cannot find it yourself.
- Forge the feeling of Joy from those little things you do
- But through it all, and don’t you forget, live your life with Peace.
- Special Note:
Remember, His Peace is what we were freely given.
Think about it and use it often
- Special Note:
- Express your Faith, it’s the solid framework for deciding how to live.
- Make good choices.
Mark each point off; day by day
And life will be productive.
The things you do with this thought
Becomes your reality
When your checklist is filled every single day
From my Past through the Future
Living and walking victoriously Today.
Count your blessings,
Come on, you can do it!
Name them one by one.
Count your many blessings
See what God has done.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, Peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
(Galatians 5:22-25 NKJV)
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.
(Ephesians 5:8-10 NKJV)
There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.
(1 Corinthians 12:4-11 NKJV)
