And even though I never knew him,
He spoke to my spirit and my mind
As much as any preacher ever has.
A giant of a man, in a slight frame of flesh,
A powerful dictionary of the Word of God
The Walking Bible he was often called,
Did you know the Reverend Johnny James?
Today’s date is forever planted in my mind,
The man who preached “There’s Nobody Like Jesus”
Has met our Lord and Savior on this day,
August 02, 2022, Face to face.
