Recommendations!

I’ve learned to be picky about what I recommend, and I am picky about what I choose to read, listen to, or spend my hard-earned dollars on! So, I will only share what I’ve read and enjoyed. But it’s not necessarily something you will enjoy. I’m willing to put my name to this product or producer as someone I think others will enjoy.

My key? If it’s something I’ve learned from – because I am always learning- I’m willing to share it with you and others.

This will be an ongoing list of favorites that I’m comfortable with sharing, but my focus is not limited to these few items. I’ll add, take away, change, and update as I feel comfortable sharing.

If you buy something from my list and the links I’ve provided,
I may get a few pennies of income as a referrer.

Books

Max Lucado

I can recommend any of Max Lucado’s books, but I’ve fallen in love with The Story. The telling of the story of God is found in chronological order walking through the Bible, from Genesis to Revelations.

James Michener

I’ve read nearly all of Michener’s works (I think), but these few stick out the most: AlaskaTexas The SourceSpace – Michener passed in 1997. Most of his books are converted to Kindle, but I know readers love to touch and feel pages, so my recommendations point you to his older hardcover books.

Charles Martin

A fascinating novelist that also writes excellent books about Jesus, the Bible, and living for God.

Michael Hyatt

You just have to know me and my love for leadership books. MH has spoken into my life for nearly a dozen years.

Living Forward: A Proven Plan to Stop Drifting and Get the Life You Want

Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World
(I first bought this book in 2012! Ten years ago!)

Boundaries: When to Say Yes, How to Say No

Ken Gurley

The Book on Prayer If you know my brother, I don’t need to say anything. If you don’t know him, learn more about his passion, calling, and skill in this book.

Jon Acuff

Soundtracks: The Surprising Solution to Overthinking I’m a johnny-come-lately to many authors. I apologize if you know all about Jon Acuff. I’ve only recently found his books and am enjoying walking through his library.

Music

John Denver

The album I listened to the first time I drove to Alaska in 1977. Windsong.

Video

My favorite video of all time: St. John in Exile with Dean Jones – a one-man, two-act play about St John imprisoned on Patmos. You, the audience, have come to visit him, and he spends time telling you the story of Jesus.

Fiddler on the Roof is a movie I enjoy watching when I’m stuck on an airplane. I downloaded it on my portable devices and watched it 35,000 feet in the air! Watch out! I may sing along with Topol… Just saying!

Product

My favorite writing instrument is Zebra Fine Point Pen, Okay. It’s cheap, but it’s something I carry with me everywhere I go.
