Snoqualmie Pass Snow Squall
Snoqualmie Pass Snow Squall

We are nearing the middle of April, and the snow keeps coming!

I’m happy.

Though it was poorly timed for my event calendar, even when stuck in Snoqualmie Pass for three hours behind a 15-car pileup last Saturday, I’m happy. Happy! I’m delighted to sit and enjoy the blowing squall of snow. When it gets too hot (sunburn from last Thursday’s yard work), reach out and grab a handful of snow, and let the coolness bring my face temperature down!

The only thing that would have been more satisfying is to have a cup of hot, black, strong coffee!

See?!! There’s so much to be thankful for that even the simplest of joys make me happy.

Pure joy when the snow fills all the green and brown places of the yard and loads the tree with enough frozen concoction heavy enough to break branches. Now, Mr. Snow, don’t ruin anything, just come and be safe, okay?!

I’m H-A-P-P-Y!

Yesterday, I recorded a 20-second clip of sounds that is peaceful, but it points out why I would N-O-T be happy. Any ideas what it is? Read the caption…

Snow Melt from roof to rain gutter

It’s melting too quickly!

Now, they say we could have more Monday night, but the 3-inches of snow last night is succumbing to the 49 Degrees of warm spring temperatures. I wish it would just stay cold for another week or month. Bring it on. Pile it up. The water table needs it to keep the aquifers and reservoirs full all summer. Moisten everything so well so fires have no chance to engulf the forests.

Isn’t that reason enough?
