~A Poet I’m Not, But I Do Love A Cadence of Thought~
What do you do when something gets too hot?
The simple thing is to take time and let it cool down!
How do you handle a task with many moving parts?
Well, I like to slow things down so nothing gets missed.
When a task gets too big, much bigger than your hands?
Whittle it down to size, and face the smaller chunks with aplomb.
As life becomes too bloated, you take time to ease the pressure.
The weight’s too heavy? Many hands make a light load.
This is life. You do what you must to get from here to there.
Knowing where you are is foremost, then secondly, where do you go?
Ownership of handling yourself is a personal burden.
Identifying pieces and parts, you focus on what’s important.
How can you make friends? I’ve heard it asked before.
And the Bible tells us how to think it through.
You must show yourself friendly, found in Proverbs 18:24
And that, my friend, is only the beginning.
Day in and out, you keep being a friend.
Good times, and bad, there even if you feel alone.
Throughout life, I’ve found it’s easy to hold on.
When there’s someone else to help balance your load.
My bride is my friend. Hand in hand, we’re nearing 50 years.
Beside each other, supporting and caring every day,
Tough times are easier when you allow yourself to know
A partner through life is a value far richer than gold.
As we age toward those glowing rocking chair years
I realize today, perhaps more than ever before, here’s a truth
“Life has a way of surprising your path and pace,
But together you face the future with strength.“
Yet there is a friend closer than every bond you could dream
Break it down, analyze the source, and you’ll truly find
On this day, we celebrate his arrival as our Savior
His name is Jesus, he asks, Will you walk and talk with me today?
Beyond every possibility and threat, He’ll see you through
He’s willing to guide you each step, by difficult step.
A great friend, that’s true, more importantly, our only Savior
His focus is for you to make it through.
When you get to that spot and ask What Do I Do?
Remember He’s greater support through every struggle.
He’s There! To help, hold, love, guide, and guard,
You can have a true friend for your day. Every Day. All Day Long.
How do you do it? Today is the day to decide.
He’s a friend and a savior that we celebrate today.
When you call His name just listen, He’s calling you to him.
Today. Every day. All Day Long.
