As fast as August leaves, September rushes in, squeals around the corner – Hello! Here I Am!

In the northern states, and I’m only familiar with a couple of them, the weather changes from “warm to middling hot” days and welcomed near freezing nights. Perfect, says I. Well, as near to perfection for what I would happily call a hot summer day!

In Anchorage, the upcoming 3-day weekend signaled the end of summer, State Fair, and vacations. We gazed at the Chugach mountains looking for “termination dust.” That glistening first brush of snow. It used to signal big changes to the construction season. Not so much these days. Instead of packing it up, it seems they speed up, and maybe even cover it with a tent!

Here I am. Between the Deep South and the oft frigid north, leaning away from hot weather and into the colder climes.

Druthers? Snow and cold! ‘Nuff said.
