I had a friend a few years ago that had thick skin. How thick was it? Well, he could handle rejection better than anyone I know. He accepted the no, and then simply said, “Next?”
Often we struggle with the “no’s” and give up. We become disillusioned and don’t think we are worth a “yes”.
Sometimes we want to blame others for our continual rejection, but the reality is that life has many rejections. We need to learn how to handle ourselves when others say no. Share on XSometimes we want to blame others for our continual rejection, but the reality is that life has many rejections.
Ask any writer who’s trolled their book idea in front of publishers. Many times the rejection is kind, but it’s still a “no”.
God called a reluctant Gideon for a specific purpose and allowed him to “fleece” the Lord for an answer. Should I go, or not? Well, God gets his wish, and Gideon steps up to the task.
Go! Fight! Win the Victory!
You and I would need the best army in the world, but God had different plans. He weeded out the thousands and ended up with just 300 men ready and willing to pledge themselves to the battle.
Gideon wanted thousands. God said 300. The test is on! Weed out the ones that God wants for this challenge.
Gideon needed only 300 “yes’s”, but it took 31,700 “no’s” to get them.
Here’s my thought today. Don’t be discouraged by the “no’s”! By handling yourself during the rejection of others, you are getting closer to your “yes’s” every day.
