Daily Word

I asked God for a daily word. Something fresh so I would never be at a loss for something to blog about. For several years, my morning routine has found the reward of my request. Today is no different.

Here’s my scripture:

Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food,
supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness,
while you are enriched in everything for all liberality,
which causes thanksgiving through us to God.
(2 Corinthians 9:10-11 NKJV)

The willing sower will never lack for the seed to sow. The results of labor will produce bread for food and will multiply the fruits of right living. While you enjoy the blessings, you are also liberal with sharing your great fortune. This all gives thanksgiving to God. Through our right living.

Here’s my thought. Sometimes, it is easy to say that it’s finally someone else’s job to do the work. The sowing. The sharing. But I never find scripture that gives me hope that one day we get to sit back and take our ease of life.

The field may change in shape, complexity, and effort,
but we each have something to sow every single day.

Do not ever get to the point of life where you sit back, take your ease, and let the work continue without you. Your blessings to God come from the focus you give to your calling. Your right living never ceases!

Daily Word: Is there any time in our future when we get to sit back and do nothing? I don't think so. A Christian is always doing the "work" of Christ. Always. Click To Tweet
