Enjoy The Sight

Try on your taste and efficacy hat for a moment.
Is cheaper always better?
Or must you spend your hard-earned dollars on the best?
Good. Better. Best… Hmmm. Seems I’ve heard this before.

Out of basic supplies,
I slipped to Walmart about the time the sun came out.
Which, as life would have it,
It was about the time the sun is supposed to go down.

I walked the aisles to get what was needed.
But there were differences in prices and size.
I always price things by the cost per ounce and quantity.
Most of the time, all things being equal, the lesser quantity is not the best value.

So, what was not there to buy
Many shelves were bare
Were the cheaper brands,
But I wasn’t ready to test their wares.

During all of this, I thought about my walk with God.
I want to give Him my best,
I’m not satisfied with less than I have to give
By giving all, I trust He will receive,
And the results will be precisely what I need.

“When I give my best, it’s not just for others —
It’s a reflection of the value I place on myself.
I deserve the same excellence and respect that I offer freely.”

(-drawn from a conversation with AI…)

What does it take to be your best?
I suspect it’s unique to each personality.
I find some things easier to express
But you may struggle in the same zone I fly through!

I share with myself.
Evaluate my lacking needs.
Stretch myself to improve.
So I don’t feel like an impostor or freeloader.
That’s never the way we grow better than we were.

Listening in and following you,
Are those who need good examples.
They’ll accept what you give, that is your best.
But, man, oh man, when you excel
You teach them to shine!

And whatever you do, do it heartily,
as to the Lord and not to men,
knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance;
for you serve the Lord Christ.
