I woke at 3 a.m., Sunday morning,
Or was it the middle of the night on Saturday?
We walked the dogs earlier in the evening (?)
At 9 p.m., Saturday. Was it night? Nearly dark.
All in all, Sunday began at midnight. Right?
This is the way my mind acts in the middle
Of whatever this time may be.
Yes. It’s dark. So it must be night.
But has Sunday night come early?
In creation, the evening and morning reflected a day.
Genesis says it several times.
Could it be that this is the better way of naming time?
Start tomorrow this evening.
Imagine the dramatic flair of light and night
When you live closer to the poles.
But stay in the middle, where the equator encircles the planet
And there’s not much difference between 12 and 12 (hours).
For the matter of present
Sunday Day is going to be busy
I think I’ll stretch back out.
Maybe spend my storage of Saturday night hours
Before they run from the sun.
