Letters Time over sea of clocks
More Words Than Time

Oh, a thought I ponder all the time
There’s not enough time to finish the words.
Narrow your goals, says one.
Don’t plan on giving so much, says another.
But when much is given, much is required, right?
Drop 10. Punt. Start a series of events.
To finish all your words, one event at a time.

I will do my best, I promise.
Change the scope for each event,
And plan accordingly.
A little over time is better.
Rather than too much, too quickly.

What’s that ol’ song say?
Slow down. You’re going too fast.
Ya gotta make the morning last ya!

I found this the other day.
It makes a lot of sense.
I wonder if it would help my plan
To manage my time each time I speak.

“Plan with purpose, speak with clarity, finish with impact.”

  • Plan with purpose — Know your message and allocate time wisely.
  • Speak with clarity — Stay on track, avoid distractions, and communicate clearly.
  • Finish with impact — End strong with a point that lingers.

Side Note: There are times when silence is needed. It just happened at the Master’s Golf Tournament. For six minutes, the announcers were silent, allowing the camera to focus on the win of Rory McIlroy. Yes. Sometimes silence fills the space where words can never say it better.

Jesus finally spoke to the accusers.
After spending time writing in the sand
Ignoring their demands to join their ranks
A test to see where his words would go.
I wonder…
How much silence did he allow to fill the space?

John wrote small epistles
But dealt with deep subjects
Paul wrote on widespread topics,
Several times more than once to the same audience.
But John’s focus came from Eternity
In the beginning, he says, was the Word…
Then closes out his gospel,
I suspect there’s not enough books
To tell all there is to tell
About what Jesus said and did.

Amen.

Thank you for reading.

It helps me get my book written!
