Right Foot Forward

Getting started on the right foot—it’s a phrase we’ve all heard, and maybe even misstepped before fully understanding what it means.

It’s about beginnings. Intentions. Alignment. Whether you’re stepping into a new day, a new job, a new relationship, or a fresh commitment to faith, how you begin sets the tone for what follows.

A wrong foot forward doesn’t mean failure, but it often leads to more effort trying to find balance again.

This isn’t a once-in-a-lifetime event. Instead, it’s every day with every step on every occasion. Intentionality. Start on the right foot. Repeating the concept in everything provides a foundation for forward momentum, where success emerges.

In Scripture, we see the value of good beginnings.

The steps of a good man
are ordered by the LORD,
And He delights in his way.
(Psalms 37:23 NKJV)

When we invite God into our first steps, He brings order, direction, and purpose.

Starting right isn’t about perfection—it’s about preparation and perspective.

So, how do we get started right?

  • Pause and Pray. Don’t rush. Invite God into your day or decision.
  • Plan with Purpose. Think through the “why” behind your actions.
  • Proceed with Grace. Not every step will be flawless, but grace makes each one worth taking.

Start today with the right foot forward—on purpose, in faith, with God leading the way.

“The right foot forward beats two feet stuck in place.”
