To each their own, says Plonius in Macbeth
I employ this idiom as it comes from the Latin,
suum cuique, to give me space to say,
This is what I want to say when I mention a favorite.
It fit’s me to a “T” or a “tittle” as says the KJV.
Colors. Styles. Wheels to drive. Places to go.
And certainly not least, food we like to eat.
It’s not a daily habit, but it often happens early morning,
An emailed newsletter from a favorite voice
I can read as I speed along my minutes,
Or I can pause and let him speak from his podcast.
Other voices say it different,
But with languid pace, the voice slows me down
To thinking about his words, his story,
And I say, enjoy now, for one day this voice will be gone.
I don’t want voices or sounds
To crank it up, and speed loudly down the lane.
I need the quiet time.
And, oh, this is my best time!
This morning, after a Friday of triple “threats,” I languish in my comfort zone. There is no noise, but the heat pump establishes a comfortable space. The dogs are asleep on my office porch. The soft keyboard sounds reflect my pausitive mood. I delight in the lack of distractions. Just my mind, thinking through my favorites, and feeling the need to share.
Who knows if this is not my meditative space and “keep it calm” so as to not overreact?
As the morning progresses, I will add to this thought.
It’s a new way of thinking my morning thought.
Will the end of day be like I thought?
Or will the morning slip into a brand new ending?
Time: 08:34 a.m.
It’s time to polish my Sunday Thought
But distractions will come and go.
Family. Friends. Email. Social.
Questions. Answers. Thoughts.
I don’t hibernate, but I do relish the quiet.
Time: 11:30 a.m.
My morning is coming to a close.
My Sunday Thought will get another polishing
Sometime late tonight and
Defintely early in the morning.
But my morning To Do list is growing.
Next week will be busy.
It feels like it wants to pop.
I’m not sure I will make a dent
But I’ll strive all week long…
That’s just the way I am.
There’s no Spring Break for me,
And we are apt to ignore Summer Vacations.
It’s not till the ending of Fall
That we’ve scheduled an escape
That we call R&R: Rest and Renewal.
That has become our Familiar and Favorite space.
