Me and neighbors horse and colt
Ahha! Horses!

We want life to go right
And think everything should be peachy
But what do you do
When life isn’t nor doesn’t.

When life doesn’t go as wished,
It’s not the end of the story—
Just a plot twist in the journey
That may lead to unexpected glory.

“Now is no time to think of what you do not have.
Think of what you can do with what there is.”

~Ernest Hemingway (The Old Man and the Sea)

I may not hold the finest things,
Nor soar on wealth’s outstretching wings.
But in my hands, with heart so true,
I find a way—I make do.

I’m a lot like my granddad,
Not totally, of course
His barn left behind treasures
That someday, he knew they would be needed.

Jesus didn’t ask for a caterer
Instead, “What do you have?
Some fish, a bit of bread,
Bring me what you have.
That miracle is still shared today.

Little is much, says the old song,
When God is in it…
Even when it’s a little…
I still learn to make do.

Thank you for reading.
Please share with others.
It helps me get my book written!
