Sound Volume Control
Volume and Balance

Walking through an airport
Where I first walked 47 years ago
I’m looking at what’s familiar
And understanding how much things have changed.

I’ve changed.
And I’ve not kept up with all the changes around me.
I struggle to see where I fit in
And the imbalance I feel, though we are in the same groove.

What I struggle with the most
Is how much I’ve changed
I’m not the same young person
Edged on the leaping off point of the Far North.

Technology has advanced everything
I’ve climbed to be equal to the moment
But my age has crept up faster
I do know there are limits just around the corner.

Funny thing…
My Bible has not changed, but I have.
I’ve grown up, absorbed, and lived what I’ve learned
But I still find it challenging to get everything I can from it.

Though my reading speed has advanced,
I find myself slowing down to let the words live longer
On my mind, in my thoughts, and the focus it brings
Words should be more slowly absorbed.
I understand a long-time friend and ex-brother-in-law better.
Read slowly – there’s more to get than just to the finished line.
The End…

Even what I read has changed.
No longer do I look for new approaches to the same topics.
Instead, I enjoy re-reading aged tomes.
There’s more there than I thought back when I was young.

That’s when my imbalance finds harmonic resonance.
Revisit. Take my time. Soak it up. There’s value in the aged words.

Thank you for reading.
Please share with others.
It helps me get my book written!
