We’ve thought it through
And on and on, the thoughts do roam
But at some point, you get stuck in your mind
And nothing happens. No action.
Have you learned when your thinking time is at it’s best?
Use it. That’s brain power hard at work.
But your body needs to respond to the thought.
That’s action doing its best.
This morning I’m aching to do
But my mind has not caught up to the action.
I’m stuck in memory mode.
But calories are waiting to enter burn mode.
What’s happening?
Finally, some sun and calm weather.
What it wouldn’t be like to turn the tractor on
And move piles of dirt and rocks
Creating safe space and comfort
Where my mind no longer has to think
About what to do next.
Some have a bucket list,
Others a chore list filled to the brim
Some have an idea creating space
But most of us just want to do.
Something. Anything. Go. Do. Be.
Pick your battleground
Think it through
Consider the options
Plan for inevitable and famous “what-if’s”
But then, scratch the surface of doing
And suddenly, all those hours of thought
Are producing something tangible.
For which of you, intending to build a tower,
does not sit down first
and count the cost,
whether he has enough to finish it—
lest, after he has laid the foundation,
and is not able to finish,
all who see it begin to mock him, saying,
‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’
Luke 14:28-30 NKJV
Now. Don’t you feel better?
