James Fenimore Cooper's book cover of Pathfinder
It's Your Path

What you do from where you are
It is to answer a mission or call.
Walk the path. No one else can walk it for you.
It’s Your Path.

I gave my commitment over 50 years ago,
And started a path that is not even close to being over.

I accepted the call to raise children.
It’s a tough job, but I love my kids.
I hope I did them a good job.

Before all of that,
I answered a call nearly 60 years ago,
But it took several decades to step out on faith and be.
I’m not sure it’s where I wanted to be
But God has a way of preparing those for His prepared path.

Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.
(Psalms 119:105 NKJV)

Have I done everything right?
Perhaps not. No. Definitely not.
But life is a path that winds with time
Sometimes you do good, sometimes not…
But how you finish is really about you.
Never let it be said you define yourself
By your worst moment.

James Fenimore Cooper wrote “Pathfinder”
And from that novel I took as a CB Handle, “Path Finder.”
When it comes to moving forward,
My Path is often not walking the road that others have walked
So I must make a path, yet I know the path He’s put me on.

I love the quote by a writer, author, and wordsmith:

“Do not go where the path may lead,
Go instead where there is no path…and leave a trail.”
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

If there is a pathway forward,
You will find it many times.
After each slithering fall
Or stumbling trip,
Pick yourself up
Face yourself forward
Keep following His path.

The path of least resistance is the path of the loser.
~H. G. Wells
