Once you step, don’t feel like you must look back.
The next step ahead is stressful in itself.
Run, Walk, Crawl, Keep Moving Forward (MLK)
One small for man is a giant leap for mankind (JFK).
We’ve watched the world change
More rapidly than we can imagine.
From barefoot days and cutoff bluejeans,
To tottering around the yard. Where’s my cane?
Gotcha! Not yet.
But it sure feels like the slide is downward.
I’m trimming, cutting, organizing, and doing,
Everything, anything, all that needs to be done.
But I refuse to step back…
There are still hills to climb.
Caleb? What did you say to Joshua?
“For 45 years the Lord has kept me alive! Now I’m only 85.”
“Give me this mountain!”
“As yet I am as strong this day as on the day
that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then,
so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in.”
(Joshua 14:10-13 NKJV)
Even at 85, Caleb was not slowing down.
A mountain is conquered, step by weary step.
Slogging higher with every several breaths.
Don’t stop your steps until you’ve finished the climb.
While writing this thought,
A song I love came to mind.
So, I turned my research mind on
And found the original song.
Don’t stop walking now…
God’s walking with you!
God Walks The Dark Hills
Verse One
God walks the dark hills, the highways and biways
He walks o’er the billows of life’s troubled sea
He walks in the cold, dark shadows of midnight
God walks the dark hills for you and me.
First Chorus
God walks the dark hills to guide my footsteps
He walks everywhere by night and by day
He walks in silence down the lone highway
God walks the dark hills to show me the way.
Verse Two
God walks in the storm, the rain, and the sunshine
He walks in the shadows of glimmering light
He walks o’er the mountains, the rivers and valleys
God walks the dark hills to guide you and me.
Second Chorus
God walks in silence in the stillness of midnight
He walks in your Garden of Gethsemane
He walks through the halls and aisles of the Temple
God walks the dark hills to guide you and me.
