I’m not talking about firing your body and starting over.
Although, with 6 million dollars Hollywood told us we could,
Rebuild, renew, and make better.
So they shared a show about it.
Today, medical marvels improve our lives for longer.
But, and though sad to say, everything we are
It will someday slowly fade away.
But that’s not what I’m talking about today.
No… I’m talking about finding some rest.
An actor based article stated this morning:
He doesn’t have a mobile phone,
He’s never sent or used an email and has no address
His entertainment comes from Rabbit Ears
And I step back and say, “Wow. I admire him!”
It sounds restful, …. and stressful.
But I like my internet connectivity.
The ability of doing things at home,
Or while on the road,
It makes my life different. Better?
Only time will tell.
I woke in the middle of the night. Again.
Not sure why. The dogs were quiet.
Someone writes and says it’s the cortisol effect.
After four hours of sleep, the body does what the body does,
As the Apollo 13 stirred the tank and things happen,
Cortisol stirs the body and activates the mind.
You can conquer it. True. But it’s best to go ahead and move.
To the living room. Mobile life in hand. Check the news.
Read some words. Slowly, lead yourself back to bed.
If you are going to go the technology lifestyle,
You must stay intune and up-to-date.
It’s a constantly changing world.
Without an upgrade, you may not work much longer.
But this thought includes me. My mind. Spirit. Hope. Hunger.
I must persevere. Keep improving. Don’t Stop.
If I slow down, so soon, I’ll be out of date.
Expired. No longer safe.
It may take too long to get back in the game.
The Apostle Paul writes, and favored words they are:
And do not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Romans 12:2 NKJV
Maybe we need to change our rest and recovery thought
And use the Greek word for Renewing:
Anakainōsis: (an-ak-ah’ee-no-sis) Renew, Renovation
It’s only used twice, but I think I get the picture.
Monday’s are my day off.
Saturday and Sunday are work days.
Tuesday gets ready for Wednesday.
Thursday and Friday are for work at home.
Monday is my anakainosis…
We all need it… What’s yours?
Thank you for reading.
Please share with others.
It helps me get my book written!
