There’s no snow in the forecast, but I love it when it comes.
The picture is just a dream, of life and times of another day..

I love cold weather.
For all my life, that’s been the truth.
About 7 years old,
I asked for permission to go outside barefoot…
There may have been a skim of ice on a puddle.
It didn’t last long
Because Cold is Cold!
But it sure felt like heaven!

Cold air is crisp.
Like a drink of ice-cold water on a summer’s hot day,
There’s something special about knowing cold.

After 16 years in Alaska
Where I walked outside at Zero degrees
With only a light windbreaker.
I learned…
Unless the wind is blowing
It’s just not that cold.
Throw in the wind,
And even 50 degrees will seem like freezing.

This morning, it’s 26 degrees.
Colder by 5 degrees than Anchorage.
But West Yellowstone is -8 degrees…
Go, East, ol’ man… Go East!”

And now it’s cold in the warmer climate of my birth
Though my DNA points to the North Sea,
I was privileged to be born in the hot and muggy South…
But I was born in January 1955…Baytown!
It was just middlin’ in temps.
57 degrees in the daytime, 46 at night.

During my mid-teen years,
I worked at a grocery store.
They couldn’t believe I’d work in the freezer
Without first layering up…
I’d walk in and enjoy.

While it’s cold…enjoy it!
It don’t last too long.
Those hot summer days leave me wishing
For a Blue Norther to bring in the cool.
