It takes a lifetime of learning
What to say, or not,
How to do or don’t,
To reach the point of being
Without even having to think.
Muscle Memory.
Normal Response.
Push My Button, ask away.
Be like that Magic 8 Ball…
There’s nothing new to say.
As I met the new age
On another trip around the sun
I felt the impossibility of helping others
It seems they never think and know only how to react.
Where did their Response Button come from?
How did they reach this point in life?
Didn’t they ever purpose to grow?
Life is about getting better. Not worse.
Imagine the Apostle Paul
Blinded and led to a waiting space
Reacting and responding to God
Who said, “I have a new way.
The mission will be tough.
Few would even succeed.
But you, Paul, has what it takes.”
Now, imagine the delivery of healing and news.
Ananias asks God, “Are you sure?
His reputation is scary. Why don’t you send someone else.”
God says, “Go… Deliver Paul.”
Read about it in Acts, Chapter 9.
Those I’m thinking about
Are those who never think. They only react.
They would reject being a considerated person.
NO. My Way is the only way.
I’m stubborn. Let me be.
I pause and look at my keyboard.
There’s an “Enter” button just waiting.
Au Contraire... It’s just more than just a tool.
It can be joined with others, like “Shift“
That will make the response different!
But when the going gets tough.
Who are you going to call?
I’m getting too old, I think,
To be the one.
That’s always here to serve… or save.
But God speaks…
That’s how I am. Over and over again.
Don’t you want to be more like me?
Let me Shift my Response… Yes, Lord
I’ll do it again.
