Running through deep mud
Take The Next Step

Looking the wrong way it’s often hard to see your way forward. This was my morning thought. I don’t want to look over my shoulder at the failures of my past and let them trip up my steps as I try to move forward.

So I started asking questions from the search engines and all the answers provided, and I found this little thought that I’ve adjusted to my voice. Yes. AI does have some benefit. I hope it speaks to you as it did to me.

Walking Forward, Not Looking Backward

Step by step, my path unfolds,
In tomorrow’s light the promise holds.
Eyes fixed firm on what’s ahead,
Dreams to chase, not fears to dread.

The past may whisper, tempt, or call,
But forward strides will conquer all.
Lessons learned, and burdens shed,
Footprints mark where hope has led.

Mountains rise and rivers bend,
Today’s journey start where yesterdays end.
Through each dawn, a choice to make—
Face the sun, not shadows in my wake.

No backward glance, no lingering haze,
A heart that seeks the brighter days.
The road unknown, but faith is in store,
One step forward; don’t stay stuck; take the next step.

Notice the last phrase… Take The Next Step. That’s how I modified the poem. It’s all about what I do next. That’s my key phrase for this season. Don’t stay stuck. Take the next step. Of course, you will fail at times. But having a focus forward will hlep you keep focusing on your next step.

You do not rise to the level of your goals.
You fall to the level of your systems.
~James Clear.

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended;
but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind
and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
Philippians 3:13 NKJV

I have some thoughts to share on this and hope you join me over the next few days. I’m ready to take the next step.
