This felt right. I felt right when I read first read it, and later as I thought about the choice I was making, and today no matter if my choice was selected or not.
“Forces beyond your control can take away everything you possess except one thing,
your freedom to choose how you will respond to the situation.”
~Viktor Frankl
Whether yesterday, today, or tomorrow…my choice matters. I’m thankful for the freedom to choose.
My choice may begin emotional, but if I trust in God, the spiritual outcome is what I need.
Politics may be ugly, and I’m in a blue state with a red commitment to the presidency. I struggle with either situations, but don’t we believe God is in control?
Read Daniel’s response to King Nebuchadnezzar’s request.
Daniel answered and said:
“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
For wisdom and might are His.
And He changes the times and the seasons;
He removes kings and raises up kings;
He gives wisdom to the wise
And knowledge to those who have understanding.
He reveals deep and secret things;
He knows what is in the darkness,
And light dwells with Him.
Daniel 2:20-22 NKJV
Without knowing the dream, God revealed the answer to Daniel, which was a future situation. Though they were in the captivity of a foreign power, God answered them to their advantage. Sandwich the understanding between the edges if first acknowledging God, and knowing that He shines in the darkness.
Today, and I paid no attention to yesterday, I allowed the results to be a reflection from God. Why? How? I had the freedom of choice and voted my conscience.
Let’s pray for our national elections.
God gives humans a choice, but through our prayers & advocacy,
He can influence people to vote & to consider carefully how to vote
in the best interests of national values & religious freedom.
