Fall Colors, Blue Sky
Come on, Fall!

Sitting at the dining table,
Blinds open, sunlight streams,
The trees are all kinds of Delicious
Green, Yellow, Orange, and Red.

Peaceful. Beautiful. Well presented.
Apples, ready to be picked.
Grass damp with dew.
One more yard mowing.

Come on, Fall!
Color my world with beauty.
Chill the weather. No A/C.
Let the coolness come.

In the midst, I pause.
An unpleasant chore. Do it quickly.
Don’t let it bewitch the sacred feeling.
Fall, Beautiful, Colorful Fall.

At home, there’s so much yet to do.
I’m ready for it to wind up this Fall.
Wrap it up. Put it up. Snag it down.
A river of Fall rain arrives.

The dogs seem friskier.
The sunlight is shorter.
The night is clear, dark, and frosty.
Come on, Winter! Come on, Closer!
