Snowball in a hand ready to be thrown
Not A Snowball's Chance

Everything we struggle with
Has a way of coming back to haunt us.
Attitudes. Emotions. Actions. Thought…
Everything. Nothing is off the table.

Snowballs are not fluffy if the season is right.
They are hard. They can hurt.
Yet snowball fights are fun.
As long as your supply remains.

Snowballs are often embedded with debris
And the ice that forms from a cold winter blast.
They are dangerous. You can get hurt.
Where’s my shield? I need its support!

Today’s life…

This morning, I had to wake my bride from a dead sleep.
Our Puppy #8, Bear, had a bone stuck in his throat.
She has a way with dogs—and small hands.
That bone didn’t stand a chance!

We’ve been working at the church for ten days
No modem, hence, no internet,
And that means no streaming…
That problem didn’t stand a chance.

My mom has been struggling for months.
Issues out of her control. Some good doctors,
Support of prayer, family, and friends.
That trial doesn’t stand a chance.

One by one, the snowballs are flung
Sometimes they come fast and strong,
Other times? Lofted to gently fall.
But we are stronger than the snowballs.
Don’t let them stand a chance!

This Word stands strong when snowballs begin to fly.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,
but against the rulers, against the authorities,
against the cosmic powers over this present darkness,
against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
Therefore take up the whole armor of God,
that you may be able to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all, to stand firm.
(Eph 6:12-13 ESV)
