Where do I start
To get from here, say, to there?
Some will tell you the starting place
That has nothing to do with where you are.
For me, everything I do,
Starts from “here.”
Where?
From where I am right now.
This morning, I was thinking about all that must be done, the time and schedules that are mine, and how do I mix the day so that the ending will feel accomplished.
Getting to the end is nice, but I want to do it triumphantly, and not dragging across the finished line in last place.
If you don’t know me, this is my life.
My “To Do” list is floating around here somewhere. A contractor shows up within the next 20 minutes. The dogs are fed and put to the yard. But there are calls to make and tasks to do that cannot wait.
How did I get here? Why, from there where I started.
If I could only rhyme like Dr Seuss,
Maybe you would sense my dilemma
Whee do I go to start my day?
Why, start where you are, that’s what I always say.
“The Lord GOD has given Me The tongue of the learned,
That I should know how to speak
A word in season to him who is weary.
He awakens Me morning by morning,
He awakens My ear To hear as the learned.
The Lord GOD has opened My ear;
And I was not rebellious,
Nor did I turn away.
Isaiah 50:4-5 (NKJV)
