August 2024 with Mt Rainier

It’s been a long week, and the weekend is staring me in the face! I’m not one to worry about which day of the week it may or may not be, but there are many blessings to recognizing “Saturday.”

It’s called by many names. But on my calendar I have the power to call it what it is… I wonder what God’s thoughts might be?

In the Bible, all the way back to creation, our Saturday was the seventh day of the week. God saw all He had created and took the day off!

Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished.
And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done,
and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.
Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it,
because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.
Genesis 2:1-3 NKJV

Most of my ministry, I’ve reserved Saturday as personal time. Do what you want, as you need, and enjoy the time away from your labors. Sunday is a work day for me and others, but there’s joy in the effort. It’s not working a job, but working in God’s calling.

And that, my friends, is every day of the week. It’s a work-day for God, no matter what the day may be.
