Sign board telling you it's time to make a choice
Mine, Yours, Or...?

I oft hate making decisions
Distinctions between this or that
To satisfy me, you, or somebody else.
Choosing colors of paint? Not me!
Making choices about layout? What a pain!
What to eat for lunch?
I don’t care. But really? I do.

Eventually it’ll show up right,
Or I’ll adapt to what it is,
I’m generally very easy to please.
Don’t put me in the cross-hairs of choice.

As life meanders down the trail,
Some changes come oh so quickly.
You take to the newness, or not.
Not choosing is making a choice.

I’m tainted by my past.
From computers to auto’s
From hair style to clothes
Even numbering systems – Standard, Imperial, or Metric.

The books that draw me are the ones I seek out.
Even then, not every book is good enough to keep.
An easy choice of like, or not
Keep, trade, or donate.

But when it comes to life choices
I come down on His side, I pray.
It’s not about what I want, or not.
It’s all about keeping the faith.

Lot chose the wellwater plains,
Abraham accepted the leftover.
Judas chose for the wrong side,
And paid the consequences for a bad decision.
Saul chose David,
The right man at the right time.
Defeated! Goliath is fallen. Congratulate yourself.

Making choices? It may not be your forte.
Don’t ever let someone else choose for you the wrong way.
Take ownership of your life, in God’s hands you’ll do better.
Make the best choice. You’ll see. It works out in the end.

When your terror comes like a storm, And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you. “Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me. Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of the LORD, They would have none of my counsel And despised my every rebuke. Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way, And be filled to the full with their own fancies. For the turning away of the simple will slay them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them; But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil.”
Proverbs 1:27-33 NKJV
